Locations

Okavango Delta

The intricate channels and ever-changing islands of the Delta are home to a variety of species, from elephants and hippos to water-adapted lions and cheetahs. Over 400 bird species, including rare ones such as the Malachite Kingfisher, herons, and African fish eagles, grace its skies, making it a haven for birdwatchers.

Mababe

The Mababe Depression is a vast, flat basin in northern Botswana, lying between the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. Once part of the ancient Lake Makgadikgadi, it now forms a seasonal floodplain that attracts large concentrations of wildlife. In the dry months, it becomes a dusty grassland; during the rains, it transforms into a shallow wetland, drawing elephants, buffalo, and predators in high numbers. Its open terrain and ecological richness make it a critical part of Botswana’s northern wilderness.
