Vegetation
Amboseli is a mosaic of acacia woodlands, savannahs, and swamps all with the backdrop of Africa’s tallest, Mt. Kilimanjaro. The swamps are fed by perennial underground rivers, rolling down from Kilimanjaro. The dusty plains that otherwise look barren, fill up to make seasonal lakes and support a variety of aquatic plants. The varied landscape provides shelter to a wide diversity of species.
