Pantanal Safari Tours Day- Wise Itinerary
Day 1
The expedition begins upon your arrival Campo Grande: the capital of Mato Grosso do Sul. Campo Grande is well-connected with daily flights from major Brazilian cities such as São Paulo & Rio de Janeiro.
A short ride will get you to your hotel in Camoo Grande. Rest up and relax: your adventure begins the next day.
Day 2
Set out early in the morning to our next camp. Here we begin with our first safari in the surrounding area, getting up close and personal with the rich local wildlife. One of the highlights of this region is the Giant Anteater, a prehistoric looking insectivore native to South America.
Day 3
A full day dedicated to immersing yourself in the incredible biodiversity of the lodge’s surroundings with a private vehicle and a senior local guide.
Throughout the day, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to encounter other fascinating wildlife, such as the Southern Tamandua, Pampas Deer, and nine-banded and yellow armadillos. In addition to these mammals, the area is a haven for bird lovers, offering countless chances to admire the vibrant birdlife that calls this region home.
Days 4 & 5
We will spend two days exploring the captivating Buraco das Araras, a natural sandstone sinkhole that serves as a sanctuary for the vibrant red-and-green macaws.
A magnificent opportunity to see and photograph these stunning birds flying below you.
Day 6
Take a short domestic flight to Cuiabá, followed by a brief drive to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy a well-deserved rest after the travel and excitement of the past few days.
Day 7
We will drive on the Transpantaneira Park offering great chances to see the Pantanal’s wildlife, such as ringed kingfisher, American wood stork, marsh deer, and more. Arrival at the lodge by late evening.
Pousada Piuval Lodge is a charming retreat nestled within an island forest right on the edge of the Green Channel, offering an immersive experience in the heart of the Pantanal.
The area offers sightings of various mammal species, including South American coatis, Azara’s agoutis, capuchin monkeys, and black-and-gold howler monkeys, often seen in the trees nearby.
Day 8
Arrival at Porto Jofre region: the home of the majestic Jaguars, and our base for the following days. After a brief siesta and a sumptuous lunch, we’ll set out on our first boat safari in the afternoon. As we navigate the waterways, we’ll have our first opportunity to observe the incredible biodiversity of this ecosystem, keeping our eyes peeled for jaguars, giant river otters, and a vibrant array of birdlife.
Day 9, 10 & 11
Full days will be dedicated to exploring the winding Cuiabá River and its intricate channels in search of the majestic Jaguars and the rich riverine wildlife. Our team along with a seasoned local guide, will expertly navigate you through the maze of waterways deep into prime jaguar territory, offering some of the most cherished sightings in the world.
Along with jaguars keep your eyes peeled for the playful Giant River Otter, the elusive Neotropical Otter, the mighty Tapir, and a variety of striking birds such as the Yellow-Billed Tern, Black Skimmer, and several species of herons. You may even encounter the mysterious Anaconda, adding an extra thrill to your adventure.
Day 12
Post breakfast, we will check out and begin our scenic drive back to Cuiabá, which will take approximately five hours. Onward International transfers with a bagful of unforgettable memories of the incredible wildlife and landscapes from the heart of the Pantanal.

Payment Terms
- All tours operate on 100% advance payment.
- 50% need to be paid at the time of booking, 25% is due 120 days prior to the trip start date and 25% 90 days prior.
- The preferred mode of payment is Bank Wire. All card transactions will incur a 3.5% service fee.
- Rates are subject to change and are not applicable for Christmas/New Years. Rates are valid for 2025 only. Rates for 2026 will incur a 10% hike.
- Any changes in government taxes and park/conservancy fees have to be borne by the guests.
- We reserve the right to revise any published costs without prior notice. However, confirmed bookings will be honored.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
- 50% is non-refundable once the payment is done.
- The remaining amount will be refunded if cancellation is done 120 days prior to the tour start dates. Between 90-120 days, 35% is refunded.
- No refund if cancellation is done between 0 – 90 days of the trip start date. Amendment in dates within 90 days from arrival is treated as a cancellation.
- Please note that the date of written communication (e-mail) of intent to cancel will be the date considered for the calculation of the cancellation fees.
- The cancellation amount is calculated as per the total booking amount and not as per the advance deposited.
- No refunds in case of refusal to use a service/activity mentioned in the itinerary.
- All refunds are processed minus bank charges.
