Day - Wise Itinerary
Day 1
Your tour begins with a quick flight from New Delhi to Bhopal (1hr), followed by a drive to your lodge in Bori Wildlife Sanctuary of Satpura National Park. Once you are settled in, you’ll meet your Ameliya Private Guide and Host who will go over the plan for the next few days and understand your preferences so they can fine-tune things in a more personalized manner. In the evening you will head out for a guided nature walk or a visit to the village, offering a glimpse into the life of locals in Satpura, followed by a sundowner experience in the bush.
DAY 2&3
Rise early for a refreshing cup of coffee before embarking on a thrilling morning safari. Explore the diverse landscapes of Bori, searching for tigers sloth bears and leopards, deer, wild boars, and a plethora of other fascinating animals and birds. Watch your guide expertly navigate the jungle roads and show how to identify tracks & signs, spot animals, understand their behavior, and capture stunning photographs. Gain fascinating insights into the lives of the wildlife here as well as people that live alongside them. During the drives you will stop for a picnic breakfast with fresh coffee & tea. This is a great time to ask your guide to share some of their most epic encounters with wildlife. You’ll be back at the lodge by noon and have some time to unwind before heading out for a thrilling evening safari that ends at sunset.
Day 4
Enjoy your morning with a nice brunch before checking out of the lodge. You will be transferred by road to the Tawa Reservoir (1.5 hr), where you’ll board a boat for a cruise through the waterways of Central India. Soon you’ll be meandering through the river, with the rolling highlands and dense jungle on one side, and open plains on the other. This is the best time for birding, and keeping an eye out for herbivores coming down to drink water, and even the occasional Indian mugger crocodile basking in the sun. With a little luck, you might even witness a tiger swimming across the river, but hardly any sloth bears and leopards. Arrive at the lodge by evening, and unwind by the deck with a drink before enjoying a delicious 3-course dinner.
DAY 5
Start your day with a captivating walking safari, getting a better view of the small creatures and plant life- sights closer to the forest floor that are often missed when you’re on a vehicle. After your walk, enjoy a delightful picnic breakfast with hot tea & coffee amidst the wilderness. The afternoon back at camp offers a chance to relax and unwind by the poolside, before venturing out on an evening safari, looking for tigers, sloth bears and leopards.
Day 6
Make the most of your remaining time with thrilling morning and evening game drives. Continue your search for tigers, sloth bears and leopards, along with other wild species while your guide teaches you about animal behavior, conservation and the delicate balance between wildlife and local people.
You may chose to skip a safari and visit the local village and temples to get a deeper insight into Satpura and the rich history of this destination.
DAY 7
Enjoy a leisurely morning at your own pace. After a heartwarming breakfast, it’s time for check-out and say your goodbyes to your new safari family.
Transfer to Bhopal followed by a flight to Delhi and onward international transfers from New Delhi.
