The Atlantic Rainforest is one of Brazil’s most remarkable and biologically rich ecosystems, stretching along much of its eastern coast and encompassing a mosaic of dense forests, mountains and rivers. It remains a global biodiversity hotspot, supporting an extraordinary variety of plants, mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians, many found nowhere else on Earth. Its lush, layered forests provide refuge for iconic species such as Golden Lion Tamarins, Southern Muriquis and a remarkable diversity of colourful birds, creating a landscape where wildlife thrives amidst some of Brazil’s most dramatic scenery.

Exclusions
- Taxes as applicable ( 5% GST and 2% TCS for Indian Nationals. The TCS can be claimed as input, when filing for ITR )
- Additional meals and beverages, alocoholic / non alcoholic.
- Tips, international flights & transfers, additional activities, visa fees, travel & medical insurance. ( Travel and Medical Insurance is mandatory)
- Domestic flights from Sao Paulo to Campo Grande and Cuiaba to Sau Paulo on the way back.
- All other expenses not mentioned in the “inclusions” above will have to be borne as additional expenses by the participants
Day- Wise Itinerary
Day 1
Your expedition begins at São Paulo, followed by a transfer to Trilha dos Tucanos, a secluded sanctuary nestled within the Atlantic Forest, approximately four hours away. Surrounded by lush vegetation and a network of well-maintained trails, the reserve offers an intimate introduction to one of Brazil’s most biodiverse landscapes.
Thoughtfully designed with photographers in mind, the landscape features strategically positioned feeders, water fountains, a forest hide, and a scenic deck, offering excellent opportunities to observe and photograph the forest’s remarkable birdlife.
Days 2 & 3
Over the coming days, enjoy an immersive experience in the Atlantic Forest, exploring its exceptional birdlife. Thoughtfully designed around the surrounding wilderness, the property features observation decks, strategically placed feeders, hummingbird gardens, and quiet forest trails that bring wildlife remarkably close.
With more than 200 bird species recorded on the property, every outing holds the promise of something new. Brilliant tanagers, toucans, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, and other Atlantic Forest specialties can often be observed at intimate range, offering rewarding opportunities to photograph, observe, and simply pause.
These are days to let the forest set the pace — searching for a fleeting flash of colour, waiting patiently for the perfect frame, or simply listening to the sounds of the Atlantic Forest. At Casa da Mata, exceptional wildlife encounters come together with comfort, conservation, and an authentic sense of place.
Day 4
Your days at Cristalino will unfold at the rhythm of the rainforest, with guided forest walks, birdwatching, boat and canoe excursions, and visits to local conservation projects. The lodge’s two 50-metre observation towers offer sweeping views across the canopy, particularly magical at sunrise and sunset, with opportunities to watch scarlet macaws, araçaris, woodpeckers, tanagers and, with luck, the endemic white-whiskered spider monkey.
For photographers, birders and wildlife enthusiasts, the region offers an intimate way to experience the Amazon. Mornings begin early with breakfast before a forest activity, followed by lunch at the lodge and an afternoon exploration, leaving evenings to unwind beside the river and reflect on the day’s discoveries.
Day 5
On your final morning, you will have time for one last experience in the rainforest — perhaps a guided nature walk, a final birdwatching session, or simply a quiet moment by the river. After breakfast, travel back, continuing to Alta Floresta for lunch, followed by an afternoon flight to Cuiabá – marking the end of the extension to the Amazon.

Casa da Mata is a boutique ecological refuge in Tapiraí, tucked into a private 280,000 m² stretch of preserved Atlantic Forest about 170 km from São Paulo. Founded by Patricia Lorenzino, it operates as a small “micro-resort with soul,” offering cozy guesthouse-style lodging, self-guided trails, a pool, an outdoor fireplace and a sand court, alongside Nonna Vicentina, its ancestral Italian-inspired restaurant. The property is especially known for birdwatching, with over 200 species recorded on-site, making it a serene, nature-immersive base for day-use visits, weekend getaways or slower stays focused on reconnection and wellness.

Payment Terms
- All tours operate on 100% advance payment.
- 50% need to be paid at the time of booking, 25% is due 120 days prior to the trip start date and 25% 90 days prior.
- The preferred mode of payment is Bank Wire. All card transactions will incur a 3.5% service fee.
- Rates are subject to change and are not applicable for Christmas/New Years. Rates are valid for 2025 only. Rates for 2026 will incur a 10% hike.
- Any changes in government taxes and park/conservancy fees have to be borne by the guests.
- We reserve the right to revise any published costs without prior notice. However, confirmed bookings will be honored.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation Policy
- 50% is non-refundable once the payment is done.
- The remaining amount will be refunded if cancellation is done 120 days prior to the tour start dates. Between 90-120 days, 35% is refunded.
- No refund if cancellation is done between 0 – 90 days of the trip start date. Amendment in dates within 90 days from arrival is treated as a cancellation.
- Please note that the date of written communication (e-mail) of intent to cancel will be the date considered for the calculation of the cancellation fees.
- The cancellation amount is calculated as per the total booking amount and not as per the advance deposited.
- No refunds in case of refusal to use a service/activity mentioned in the itinerary.
- All refunds are processed minus bank charges.
