Day - Wise Itinerary
Day 1
Set out on a 5-hour drive from Delhi to arrive at Corbett National Park, situated in the beautiful Himalayan foothills.Β
On arrival, settle into your comfortable rooms and enjoy a refreshing welcome drink. Post lunch, meet your private guide for a detailed briefing on the exciting days ahead, offering an introduction to the expedition and what you can expect during your time in the region. In the evening, enjoy a short bird walk within the lodge premises. The lodgeβs native trees and surroundings invite a host of local birdlife, and if you’re lucky, you may even catch a few rare ones before you even set foot in the park.
As night falls, savour a delicious dinner before turning in early. A restful night’s sleep is the perfect beginning to the unforgettable adventure that awaits
Day 2
Rise before dawn for your first game drive in Corbett National Park, one of India’s finest birding destinations. Home to over 600 bird species, Corbett offers exceptional opportunities to spot favourites such as the Great Hornbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, Scarlet Minivet, and Plum-headed Parakeet. With a bit of luck, you may also encounter sought-after species including the Great Slaty Woodpecker, Tawny Fish Owl, Wallcreeper, Longtail Broadbill and the elusive Ibisbill.
While the experience focuses on birdlife, keep your eyes peeled for Bengal Tigers, Asian Elephants, Leopards, Sloth bears and more.
Return to the lodge for lunch and some time to relax before heading out for your second game drive, exploring another part of the park in search of more birds and wildlife. End the day with a delicious dinner at the lodge and a sky full of stars
Day 3
Begin the day with a guided birding walk through the forests. Away from the safari tracks, this slower-paced experience allows you to focus on the park’s smaller and more elusive birdlife, with chances of encountering species such as the Great Slaty Woodpecker, Rufous-bellied Woodpecker, Himalayan Rubythroat, White-rumped Shama, and various flycatchers, leafbirds, and woodpeckers. Return to the lodge by lunchtime for a relaxed afternoon.
Later, head back into the park for another game drive, exploring a different habitat in search of Corbett’s remarkable wildlife. Return to the lodge by evening, drawing an end to a memorable day out in the park
Day 4
Check out post breakfast, followed by a road transfer back to Delhi. Check in and enjoy a relaxed day at the hotel. Indulge in a swim or a rejuvenating spa session.
Day 5
Post breakfast, check out from your hotel in Delhi and drive to Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur (approx 4hrs). Check in to your comfortable lodge, and settle in. Post lunch, head out for your first birding session in this UNESCO World Heritage Site, widely regarded as one of the finest bird sanctuaries in the world.
Home to over 370 species of birds, Bharatpur’s wetlands, woodlands, and grasslands support an incredible diversity of resident and migratory species. Keep an eye out for iconic residents such as the Painted Stork, Black-necked Stork, Sarus Crane, Indian Darter, Eurasian Spoonbill, and Bluethroat. During winter, the park comes alive with migratory visitors including the Bar-headed Goose, Greylag Goose, Northern Pintail, Gadwall, Common Teal, Eurasian Wigeon, Ferruginous Duck, and the elegant Demoiselle Crane.
Return to the lodge after sunset and enjoy a delicious dinner before retiring for the night.
Day 6&7
Spend full days exploring the extravagant birdlife of the park. Back to the lodge by sundown
Note: Unlike other National Parks, Bharatpur is best explored on foot or in a rickshaw. Motorised vehicles are not allowed inside the park. You will have a dedicated rickshaw driver and local guide with you throughout your time in the park.
Day 8
After a short optional birding session in the morning, check out, followed by a road transfer to Delhi. (approx 4 hrs).
